About Middle Way Healing
At Middle Way Healing we believe that the mind and body are interconnected. The body holds important clues about our inner experience and plays a significant role in the healing process. It is possible to reduce stress and suffering by paying attention to these inner clues in a non-judgmental way. Attention without judgement is not an easy task, but it is a key component to emotional wellbeing.
Our therapists blend cognitive and psychodynamic therapy with mindfulness and Buddhist psychology to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Along with traditional talk therapy techniques, our therapists use a variety of techniques including meditation, breath work, and body-based exercises to help our clients develop a greater sense of self-awareness, self-compassion and resilience.
Our therapists offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. The consultation is your chance to share what is bringing you to therapy at this time. Your therapist will also share more information about their therapeutic approach. We encourage you to ask questions you may have in determining whether we are a good match. Your therapist will also ask you some questions to make an initial determination that we have the appropriate experience and resources to meet your needs.
Therapy sessions are 45-55 minutes long and are typically weekly. The regularity of therapy sessions is important for developing a familiar and trusting treatment relationship. Weekly sessions also allow for consistent practice of the skills you will be learning. As clients meet their treatment goals, we sometimes decide together to taper visits before “graduation” from treatment.
• $150-250 for individual therapy sessions depending on the therapist.
• $250-300 for couples therapy sessions depending on the therapist.
• A limited number of low-fee therapy spots are held for individuals for whom our fees are prohibitive of accessing care. Please contact us for additional information.
• You will not be charged for a cancelled therapy session if you call or email at least 24 hours in advance.
We do not accept in-network benefits at this time.
Many health insurance plans will reimburse for therapy provided by a licensed therapist as an out-of network provider. Depending on your insurance coverage, your out-of-pocket cost may be comparable to an in-network provider. If you would like to take advantage of your out-of-network benefits, your therapist will take payments each session and generate a monthly statement that you can forward to your insurance company to seek reimbursement.
