Hunt Parr is a somatically informed therapist, yoga and meditation educator, and former professional dancer who brings a grounded, compassionate presence to the therapeutic space. Currently completing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Hunt integrates mindfulness, body-based awareness, and evidence-based modalities to support clients navigating anxiety, grief, identity development, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in contemplative practice, Hunt’s approach is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC-affirming, and rooted in both person-centered and existential philosophies. He incorporates movement and somatic awareness into sessions when appropriate, honoring the wisdom of the body in the healing process. Hunt is also trained in the Gottman Method for couples counseling and approaches relational work from a sex-positive, inclusive lens.

As a clinician, Hunt is especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples within the LGBTQ+ community and those exploring questions around identity, embodiment, and connection. His background as a professional dancer and long-time yoga teacher enriches his work with creativity, sensitivity, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.

In addition to his clinical work, Hunt teaches yoga and meditation in New York City and serves as an adjunct faculty member at NYU’s Department of Global Spiritual Life. He is originally from Alaska, a student of Tibetan Buddhism, and hopes to always bring a heart-centered approach to his practice.
